Project IMPALA progresses at the Congreso Universidad 2020

As part of the 12th international education congress – Congreso Universidad 2020 taking place at La Havana – Cuba, IMPALA project progresses are being presented. Mabelin Armenteros, vice-chancellor at Universidad Agraria de la Habana and Marcela Del Campo, director at the extension division at Universidad Catolica de Colombia present the session “Impala Project: An approximation to measuring universities’ third mission impact.”

The session illustrates its attendees the way in which a project’s structure contributes to building a reference framework to measure impact. Alternatively, achieved outcomes are also presented along with progresses from phases 1 and 2 plus project proposals aiming at piloting indicators built for the 9 third mission’s typologies, from the social, environmental, gnoseological and economical dimensions. Finally, the presenters share fundamental learnings for permanent project co-construction.

It is expected that this project takes place as a response to one of university extension challenges: Third mission, which ultimately measures this fundamental function’s impact at the university.

The Catholic University of Colombia implements the IMPALA Project

The first Erasmus + IMPALA Strengthening IMPACT in Latin American universities project took place from February 11th to 15th in Bogotá, Colombia, where different topics related to the IES missional frame and the Third Mission concept were worked on, after which, the Catholic University of Colombia started an appropriation process of previously learned lessons.
