What is IMPALA and what is the importance of the project?

During 3 years, 19 universities will work on the IMPALA project, Strengthening IMPACT of Latin American universities, Erasmus + project, all of which aim to strengthen the impact and quality in the extension of Latin American universities with methodologies developed by higher education institutions partnered in the project.

Christophe Terrasse, Director of international projects of the EFMD, highlights that during this period of work various activities are being developed, such as the creation of the impact mediation system; the practical phase that will last around 2 years, and the experimentation phase, where the 19 partners will have to develop projects with impact.

Marcela del Campo, Director of University Extension of the Catholic University of Colombia and coordinator of the IMPALA project for the University, highlights the importance of hosting the launch of the IMPALA project, as well as the workshop titled Understanding Impact QA for HEIs, (Understanding the Impact of Quality Assurance of Higher Education Institutions).

Public and private universities from Cuba, Panama, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Colombia were present at this launch. The institutions of Higher Education highlighted the importance of participating in this project led by the European Union, where the Extension will be the main topic.
